Purra is built local-first and collects as little data as possible. Here's exactly what we store, where it lives, and the choices you have.
Overview
Purra is a breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness app designed to work local-first. Purra is operated by Effectly OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (registry code 17137915), which is the controller responsible for any personal data described in this policy. Your exercises, stats, settings, notes, and game scores are stored only on your device. We collect as little data as possible, we show no ads, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone. You can reach us about privacy at contact@purraapp.com.
Data stored on your device
App content you create or generate — breathing session history and stats, custom exercises and sound mixes, theme and appearance preferences, reminder settings, notes, to-do and journal entries, and game scores — is saved in local storage on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in and use cloud sync (see below). Deleting the app deletes this local data.
Optional account
You can use the entire app without an account. If you choose to sign in, authentication is provided by Supabase using your email address, or your Google or Apple account. We store only what is needed to operate your account: your email address and a unique account identifier. We never see or store your password for Google or Apple sign-in.
Cloud sync
When you are signed in, your to-do and journal items are synced to our cloud database (hosted by Supabase) so they survive a reinstall and can be restored on a new device. Nothing else is synced — breathing data, notes, settings, and scores stay on your device. When you are signed out, no data is synced at all.
Purchases
Purra is free to use, with an optional premium upgrade available either as an auto-renewing monthly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed entirely by the app store you bought through — the Apple App Store or Google Play — with entitlement management by RevenueCat. We never receive, see, or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase-receipt information solely to validate and restore your purchase. The exact price and billing terms are always shown in the app before you confirm.
Crash reporting
To keep the app stable, we use Sentry (provided by Functional Software, Inc.) to collect crash and error reports. When the app hits an error, Sentry receives technical diagnostics — your device model, operating-system version, app version, and the error’s stack trace — plus, if you are signed in, your account’s anonymous identifier so we can tell whether a crash affected one person or many. We configure Sentry NOT to collect personal data such as your name, email address, or IP address, and we do not use it for analytics, profiling, or advertising — only for finding and fixing crashes. You can ask us to delete crash data linked to your account at any time.
Notifications
Reminders (such as daily breathing nudges and to-do reminders) are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push-notification service is used and no notification data is sent to any server. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
No advertising or analytics
The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or ad-tracking SDKs. We do not profile you and we do not share data with data brokers or advertisers. The only data that ever leaves your device is what is described above: your optional account, cloud-synced to-dos and journal entries, purchase validation, and crash reports.
Where your data is processed
Some of our processors may store or process data outside Estonia and the European Economic Area. Supabase (accounts and cloud sync), RevenueCat (purchase validation), and Sentry (crash reports) may process data in the United States or other countries. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis
We process your personal data to perform our contract with you (operating your optional account, cloud sync, and purchases) and on our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and stable (crash reports). Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it first.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us at contact@purraapp.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee) or your local supervisory authority.
Data deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all synced data from our servers. Local data on your device can be removed with Settings → Reset App or by uninstalling the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted inside the app.
